WELCOME TO EVEREST-POKER

We offer the latest in the most exciting form of online poker: Multi-Player Texas Holdem Poker. At our Holdem tables, you don't play cards against the House or against a professional Card Dealer. Instead, you play Texas holdem against other online holdem players - people just like you who come from all over the world to pit their luck and holdem poker skills against each other.

One of the most exciting factors in playing Texas holdem at Everest Poker is the international nature of the Everest Poker poker rooms, and the wide variety of playing styles and skill levels you find here.

Having other poker players at the table allows you to use a tool that doesn't work against a Video Poker machine: bluffing. You might bet big to scare opponents into throwing away a better poker hand when you have a poor poker hand, or you might bet low to keep opponents in play and adding to the pot when you have a great hand. Either way, bluffing adds a whole new element of excitement you can't get any other way.

Use Our Poker Training Room

The best way to become familiar with multi-player Texas holdem poker is to use our exclusive Texas Holdem Training Room. It's fun, it's easy and there is no pressure because you're playing poker against our three automated poker trainers, not other poker players. Take your time to learn the game controls and flow of play in a relaxed environment. It's Free Poker Play, and you can use the Texas Holdem Poker Training Room as often as you like.

To get to the Texas Holdem Poker Training Room, simply locate the Texas Holdem Training Room button on the Lobby, click and then select which type of Poker bet limits you want to use (we recommend starting with Limit Play only because there are fewer betting choices to make when playing Texas Holdem Online).

Limit play means raises are limited to the minimum bet amount, and 1/2 stakes means minimum bets are 1 poker chip in the first two rounds and 2 poker chips in the third and fourth Texas holdem rounds.

Pot Limit poker play means you can raise any amount from the minimum bet up to the amount in the pot, and 2/2 stakes means minimum bets are 2 poker chips in the first two rounds and 2 poker chips in the third and fourth rounds.

No Limit play means you can raise any amount from the minimum bet up to the amount of poker chips you have at table, and 3/3 stakes means minimum bets are 3 poker chips in the first two rounds and 3 poker chips in the third and fourth rounds.

Click OK and the Texas Holdem Poker Training Room will open with a dialog box asking how many poker chips you want to bring to the table. It shows the minimum poker chips needed to sit and the maximum number of poker chips you can bring. Since this is Free Play Poker, just click OK to sit with the maximum. You will be seated at the poker table in the foreground, and in a moment our poker bots Mallory, Hillary and Norgay will join the table and take their seats. When everyone is seated (just the four of you), play will start.

From here, you learn by doing. Action buttons will appear in the centre control panel area when it's your turn to take an action. Don't worry about clicking the wrong thing, after a few hands you'll get the hang of it and start mastering the flow of play.

A few useful online holdem tips:

  • Hold your mouse over the avatars for a few seconds to see player profiles popup.
  • Mouse-over your Pocket Cards to see your best hand rank at the moment (it may change as more community cards are dealt to the board).
  • Mouse-over most control buttons to see tips pop-up to explain their function. Action buttons typically don't have pop-up tips because they would be distracting during play.
  • The Chat window carries Dealer chat which describes what happens at each step. Reading it as you play can be instructive.
  • To see what happened at the end of the last poker hand, look in the upper right at the Previous Hand window. Click on the window to bring up the poker Statistics table showing information on your play during this table session. Click on the Statistics table to bring up the previous poker Hand summary again.
  • The Hand Ranks button will pop-up a list of all the possible Hand values ranked from highest to lowest.
  • If you want more help with understanding the Action buttons.

If you run out of poker chips, you can always leave the Texas Holdem Poker Training Room and start over again. Use it as often as you like. When you are familiar with the game controls and comfortable with the flow of play, go back to the Lobby and select an active poker table to take on other poker players for the real thrill of this game.

Choosing a Poker Table

After using the Texas Holdem Poker Training Room to get acquainted with game controls and flow of play, your next step is to choose a Poker table.

The Lobby window is arranged to help you find a poker table and take a seat, so let's start there. Here are the steps in brief:

  • Choose Real Money Poker or Play for Free Poker
  • Choose your Game (Texas Holdem or Omaha)
  • Choose a Limit Type (Limit, Pot Limit, No Limit)
  • Choose Stakes (pennies to dollars)
  • Choose Table Size (2, 6 or 10 players)
  • Optional: Check Table Details (blinds, minimum balance, etc.)
  • Go to Selected Poker Table

Free Play Poker or Real Money Poker? The first decision is style of play. Free Play uses "fun chips" that have no monetary value - they're just a way of keeping score. Real Money Play is just that - you will be using chips that have monetary value. To play for Real Money you must make a deposit to fund your account (click Cashier in the Lobby control panel to make a deposit). The Free Play and Real Money selection buttons are in the Find a Table window:

These buttons determine the type of poker tables shown in the Find a Table list. For example, when Real Money Poker is selected, all tables listed will be Real Money Poker tables. To help differentiate play style, Real Money Poker tables are green, Free Play Poker tables are red and Training tables are blue.

Choose Your Game. Next you will select the type of game you want to play. The game tabs at the top of the Find a Table section determine the type of tables shown. For example, when Hold'em is selected, all of the tables listed will play Texas Holdem poker.

At this point, you have a choice between two approaches for getting to a table. The traditional approach is to search through our List of Available Poker Tables to find one that suits your needs and has an open seat. The alternative it to use our exclusive Find a Seat wizard to quickly define the poker table you want and then have our system do the searching for you. When we find a seat that matches what you want, we immediately reserve it in your name so you can sit down and start playing without worrying that another player might take the seat before you get to the table. Have fun and enjoy the game!

Texas Hold'em Poker - Torunaments

Hold'em is a poker game for two to ten players with fairly simple rules. The object is to make the best 5-card poker hand using any combination of the 2 cards dealt face down to you and the 5 common cards dealt face up on the table. Here is the flow of play:

  • The Dealer. Cards are dealt from the position of Dealer, which rotates clockwise around the table after each hand. The player designated as Dealer for a given hand is identified by a round "D" marker on the table. The software will automatically deal cards on behalf of the Dealer.
  • Blinds. To start the game, the player to the left of the Dealer puts up the Small Blind (which is usually half the minimum bet) and the player to his left posts the Big Blind (equal to the minimum bet). This gets the pot started and encourages other players to place bets. They are called "blinds" because these bets are made before any cards are seen.
  • The Deal. Each player is dealt two cards, called Pocket Cards, which are visible only to the player holding them.
  • Betting. After all players have received their two pocket cards, there is a Round of Betting starting with the player to the left of the player who posted the Big Blind. Depending on prior activity in the current hand of play, a player can fold, check, call, bet, raise or re-raise within the bounds of the Game Limits and Table Stakes. A round of betting may circle the table several times if there are raises and re-raises. The round ends when all players have either called the last bet or folded.
  • The Flop. Next comes the Flop, where 3 cards are dealt face-up in the common area of the table, followed by another round of betting.
  • The Turn. Then comes the Turn, where a 4th common card is dealt face-up next to the Flop, and a third round of betting occurs.
  • The River. The final common card, called the River, is placed face-up next to the Turn and is followed by the last round of betting.
  • The Showdown. The Showdown occurs after betting concludes. The remaining players compare the best five-card poker hands they make using any combination of their 2 pocket cards and the 5 common cards. The player with the highest hand rank takes the pot. Occasionally, two or more players will have hands of equal rank or the best possible hand is comprised using all 5 common cards. In these cases, the players involved share the pot.
  • Next Hand. After the pot is distributed, the Dealer button moves to the next player on the left (clockwise around the table), and the players to the left of the new Dealer post blinds so the deal for a new hand can start.
